The Painted Turtle is where children with serious medical conditions celebrate just being kids! Through innovative, camp-based programs that offer a great big dose of fun and support, children with more than 73 medical conditions visit The Painted Turtle each year, reclaiming the joys of childhood.
A member of Paul Newman's renowned SeriousFun Children’s Network (formerly the Association of Hole in the Wall Camps), The Painted Turtle has provided hope and encouragement to over 47,000 children and their families through its Summer and Family Weekend camps since opening in 2004. The Painted Turtle Outpost program also brings the fun and spirit of camp to hospital playrooms and community events throughout California.
There is no billing department at The Painted Turtle – campers and their families attend free of charge. And there's no limit to the amount of laughter campers take home with them either!
To enhance the experience of living in our community; to play an active role in helping it be happier, healthier, and more fulfilling place (and Way) to live.
In June 1975 the city of Belvedere and Town of Tiburon entered into a Joint Powers Agreement that established the Beleveder-Tiburon Joint Recreation Committee. the purpose of the agreement was to create a recreation committee that would formulate, administer and operate recreation programs and facilities for the residents of Belvedere and Tiburon. Although we are still officially Belvedere-Tiburon Joint Recreation Committee, in 2013 we changed our name to The Ranch.
